Carnival Tips: Rio Carnaval is the biggest street party in the world, and hundreds of thousands of people come to Rio each year to take part in the festival. Coming to Rio Carnival requires some preparation. You should get your accommodation and flight in advance.  If you do not book beforehand, you will find hard time to get accommodation in Rio at carnival time.  
Not only vacation rental apartments but also hotels usually do not book less then five nights. 
Renting a furnished apartment (flat) for carnival time can be considerably more economical mainly if there are 2 or 3 of you.
By renting an apartment you can also enjoy complete independence, choose your own hours of sleep, decide on how early or late to have breakfast and experience living amongst Rio citizens or real "cariocas". 

Nice Location regarding Carnival Accommodation 
The apartments are located in Copacabana, where you have available lots of means of transport. 
If you want to take part in street carnival or join street bands and blocos, there are bands in Copacabana and others nighbourhoods. You can get around easily everywhere.
The access to sambadrome where the carnival parede takes place is easy,  by metro subway or by taxi. You can reach the sambadrome  within 30 minutes by metro subway. 

Street Carnaval near the Beach: The apartments for rent are located in Copacabana, so you can see what is going on or take part in street carnival. You can go on foot to join the bands and blocos.
